why gravitational force is known as 'long range force'?

The term long range force means that force never becomes zero at infinity. The gravitational force and the Coulomb force are both examples.

Gravity is a long-range force in contrast to the strong and weak forces. Magnetic and electric forces are also long-range, but gravity is unique in being both long-range, and always attractive, thus never canceling out.
