where is heart situated?
The heart is a muscular organ located in the chest between the lungs  just behind and slightly to the left of the breast bone,  and above the diaphragm. It is surrounded by the pericardium. Its size is about that of a fist, and its weight is about 250-300 g. The heart pumps blood through the network of arteries and veins called the cardiovascular system.
