briefly eplain wind power as an strategies for sustainable development?

Wind power is one of the fastest-growing sources of energy around the world -- it is abundant and provides many communities with a clean, local source of electricity; as opposed to imported fossil fuels-- most developing countries lack the technology to accurately measure the strength and frequency of wind speed, a necessity for deploying wind energy.
“In future, wind is likely to become more competitive than hydro or fossil fuel sources of energy,” said Jane Ebinger, Senior Energy Specialist with the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program, (ESMAP), a multi-donor initiative managed by the World Bank. With this in mind, the World Bank is playing a critical analytical and investment role in championing renewable energy sources to mitigate the impact of climate change.
