The world's largest volcano is Mauna Loa, on the island of Hawaii. It measures 18,000 cubic miles (75,000 cubic kilometers) in volume. Appropriately, its name means "long mountain" in Hawaiian. Mauna Loa is also one of the world's most active volcanoes, with 33 eruptions since 1843.
