What are the two main motions of the earth ? |
The Earth has two types of motion. They are:
Rotation Rotation is the movement of the Earth around its own axis from west to east. It is the spinning movement of the Earth. It is a diurnal or daily motion because the Earth takes 24 hours to complete one relation. Revolution Revolution is the annual motion of the Earth around the Sun. While the Earth spins round its own axis, it also orbits the sun along the fixed elliptical orbit. The Earth completes one revolution in 365 1/4 days at a speed of about 30 k/m second. |
