Distinguish between a map and a plan?

1. A map is a representation or a drawing of the Earth’s surface or a part of it
drawn on a flat surface according to a scale.  A plan is a drawing of a small area on a large scale.

2. Colours are mostly used in maps. The plans are mostly simple.

3. Only important features can be shown in brief on a map.  Even details of small and unimportant areas can be shown on a plan.
