EXAMPLES FOR SATURATED HYDROCARBONS
Alkanes are called saturated hydrocarbons . Saturated means that the hydrocarbons has only single bonds and that the hydrocarbon contains the maximum number of hydrogen atoms for each carbon atom .
Example  :   (1)   CH3 -CH3  (ethane)
                  (2)   CH3 -CH2-CH3  (propane)
                  (3)   CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH3 (pentane )
