The extent of deviation of a wave of light on passing through a glass prism depend on its color. Give reason.
when light travels in air all the colours have same spped but when it enters a medium each constituent colour has a different speed. The extent of deviation therfore depends of the speed of the light . That teh reason why violet deviates less and red deviated more because violet light has less speed so deviation is more and red light has more speed so deviation is less.
