The statement of Basic proportionality theorem is: the line drawn parallel to a side of a triangle intersecting other two sides at distinct points divides them in same ratio.

But statement of Midpoint theorem is: the line segment joining the mid points of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and equal to one half of it.
