A moving body weighing 400N possess a 500J of kinetic energy. Calculate the velocity with which the body is moving.(g=10m s-2) |
We know that the force will accelerate on object . We have F=ma ------------ (1) Where m is the mass of the object F is the force acting on the object in Newtons a is the acceleration or change in velocity. Kinetic Energy = 500J KE = (1/2)mv2 -----------------(2) From Equation 1 we can write m=F/a =400/10 = 40kg From equation 2 we can write v2 = KE x 2/m =500 x 2/40 =25 Therefore v = sqrt of 25 ie v= 5m/s |
