what is eddy current?explain its uses in day today life.

Eddy currents are defined as currents induced in a thick conductor when the conductor is placed in a changing magnetic field. It is the tendency of a changing magnetic field to induce a current that opposes the change. When such a changing magnetic field is close to a solid conductor, little current loops form within the conductor,(electrons traversing in small circles )that, in turn, generates a magnetic field which opposes the change. This is how eddy currents are formed.
