The least count of a vernier calipers having 20 vernier divisions when 1 M.S.D = 0.1 cm is ____________________ cm

length of smallest main scale division/number of divisions on vernier scale
Normal verniers have
one smallest M S D = 0.1 cm
No of divisions, N on vernier scale = 10
So LC = 0.11/10 = 0.01
Also normally if N is the number of divisions on V S then the y coincide with (N-1) M S Divisions
So 1 V S D. = {(N -1)/N} M S D
So L C by first formula = 1 M S D - {(N -1)/N} M S D = (1/N) M S D
