Define the pitch of a screw. |
The pitch is the axial distance between threads, and the distance the thread moves with a 360 degree revolution. So if the pitch of a screw is 1mm, one revolution will move it 1mm farther down.Pitch is defined as the axial distance between adjacent threads on a helix or screw. In most screws, called "single start" screws, which have a single helical thread along their length, the lead and pitch are equal. |
