what is pythagoras theorem?

Pythagoras theorem states that "In any right-angled triangle, the area of the square whose side is the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares whose sides are the two legs  (the two sides that meet at a right angle).
ie, c2=a2+b2, C is the side that is opposite the right angle which is referred to as the hypotenuse. a and b are the sides that are adjacent to the right angle.
