What is direct proportion ? Give example. |
Two quantities are said to be in direct proportion (or directly proportional), if one is a constant multiple of the other, i.e. y is said to be directly proportional to x if y = kx where k is a constant. or If two quantities are in direct proportion, as one increases, the other increases by the same percentage. eg:- The amount of apples you might buy and the amount you pay for them. If you buy twice as many apples as your friend, you pay twice as much. |
