Can you give me examples of Igneous rocks? |
Igneous rocks are of two types ,intrusive igneous rocks and extrusive igneous rocks. Intrusive igneous rocks : This rock is formed when magma crystallises while it is still under ground .Granite is a typical intrusive igneous rock .It consists of large crystals of light coloured minerals . Extrusive igneous rocks : It is formed when molten rock breaks through and rise up to the surface of the earth as lava .The lava cools and crystallises rapidly .These rocks consist of small crystals of dark coloured minerals called basalt rocks . |
