WHAT IS OPTICAL ISOMERISM?

Optical isomerism is type of stereo isomerism .The outstanding feature of optical isomers is that they have the ability to rotate plane-polarised light .The compound which rotates the plane polarised light to the right is said to be dextro rotatory and the compound which rotates the plane polarised light to the left is said to be laevorotatory .
