what is atom
An atom is the smallest particle of an element which can take part in a chemical reaction and is considered the basic unit of matter .
Example :  O,H,Cl etc .
Mass of an atom cannot be determined practically .But ratio of atomic mass of an element to that of an atom of carbon can be calculated and  it is called relative atomic mass .
