WHAT IS PHYSICS?

Physics is branch of science which deals with the study of natural phenomenon.Physics comes from a Greek word fusis which means nature. The various natural phenomena such as formation of day or night, seasons, rainfall, volcanoes, rainbow ,water currents in oceans, tides etc can be explained by simple laws of physics.Physics deals with a wide variety of fields such as mechanics, heat, sound, electricity, optics etc.Mechanics deals with motion of objects at low speed.Electricity deals with study of charges in motion.Optics deals with the nature and propagation of light, images formed by mirrors and lenses, reflection, refraction, diffraction, interference etc. The study of heat helps us to know the rise and fall of temperature, the working of heat engines and the transmission of heat. Modern Physics deals with the microscopic world of atom, nuclei and electrons.
