A person travels on path and the average speed is 20 km/h and he returns on the same path with average speed 30 km/h what is his average speed of the trip?
Let x be the distance.
Let t1 =  x / 20 and t2 = x / 30
Total time taken = t1 + t2
                         = 5x / 60 h
Average speed of the trip = Total distance/ total time
                                       = 2x / 5x /60
                                       = 24 km/h
