Explain Krishna-Godavari dispute ?

The cause of Krishna and Godavari dispute is the objections raised by Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh Governments regarding the diversion of more water at koyna by the Maharashtra government for a multipurpose project.This would reduce the downstream flow in their states which would adversely affect agriculture and industry.
