Ethyl alcohol is used
(i) in the manufacture of alcoholic beverages
(ii) as an industrial solvent
(iii)in the manufacture of drugs ,flavouring extracts and perfumes
(iv)in hospitals as an antiseptic
(v)as a  low freezing (fp-114.1oC)  and mobile liquid in scientific apparatus such as thermometers and spirit levels .
(vi)as an antifreeze in automobile radiators
