what is the use of esters?
Ethyl acetate is an ester which is used (1)as a solvent in industry ,notably for lacquers and resins (2) in artificial fruit flavors and (3) in organic synthesis ,example : for making ethyl acetoacetate .
Waxes are esters of long chain fatty acids and long chain monohydric alcohols .They are used in various purposes .
Bees wax (Myricyl palmitate ) which is used in preparing boot polishes ,cosmetic creams ,lipsticks ,floor and furniture polishes and candles .
Carnauba wax ( Myricyl Ce-rotate ) which is used in polishes ,as a coating of mimeograph stencils and carbon papers .
