"What is measurement".

Measurement is the process or the result of determining the ratio of a physical quantity such as a length,time ,temperature etc ., to a unit ,such as the meter,second or degree Celsius.The science of measurement is called metrology.Measurement is comparison of an unknown quantity with a known standard unit.
Physical quantity = Numerical value x unit
Measurement of a physical quantity is not possible  without units.The unit we use should be well defined , reproducible and unchangeable.
