WHAT IS THE USE OF GREEN HOUSE EFFECT?

The Greenhouse effect is a process that is naturally occurring on our planet.  The main greenhouse gas is water vapor. These greenhouse gases trap some of the outgoing energy and keep it in, warming our planet up to temperatures that we can live in.

Scientists are experimenting to generate electricty out of green house gases says the report. A brief idea is given here. Work is still being carried out.

A device that gets scorching hot as it captures and traps much of the sun's energy using a greenhouse-like approach could usher in an era of inexpensive electricity from the sun.

The breakthrough comes from a sunlight-absorbing material made of photonic crystals that are arranged to prevent the escape of most of the energy it captures from direct sunlight. All this concentrated heat is focused on the production of high-energy photons, which are used to generate electricity via a thermophotovoltaic device.

Due to the greenhouse effect and an increase in the moisture level in atmosphere, rainfall is possible in regions where it was un-imaginable before.
Agriculture is now possible in regions which are primarily arid or semi-arid zones and better agricultural practices where cropping is completely dependent upon rain water harvesting.
The overall greenhouse effect also in a way helps in extending the growing season of crops and so many crop products or vegetables are now available beyond season.
Both growing and flowering in plants are completely temperature dependent and thus with prevailing average temperature along with the presence of humidity in high percentile help plants to grow and yield better than before.
