The malleability and acoustic properties of brass have made it the metal of choice for musical instruments such as the trombonetubatrumpetcornetbaritone horneuphoniumtenor horn, andFrench horn which are collectively known as brass instruments. Even though the saxophone is classified as a woodwind instrument and the harmonica is a free reed aerophone, both are also often made from brass. In organ pipes of the reed family, brass strips (called tongues) are used as the reeds, which beat against the shallot (or beat "through" the shallot in the case of a "free" reed). Although not part of the brass section, snare drums are also sometimes made of brass.

brass

Brass is an alloy made of copper and zinc; the proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties.[1] It is a substitutional alloy: atoms of the two constituents may replace each other within the same crystal structure.

By comparison, bronze is principally an alloy of copper and tin.[2] Bronze does not necessarily contain tin, and a variety of alloys of copper, including alloys with arsenicphosphorusaluminium,manganese, and silicon, are commonly termed "bronze". The term is applied to a variety of brasses and the distinction is largely historical,[3] and modern practice in museums and archaeology is increasingly to avoid both terms for historical objects in favour of the all-embracing "copper alloy".[4]

Brass is used for decoration for its bright gold-like appearance; for applications where low friction is required such as locks, gears, bearings, doorknobsammunition casings and valves; for plumbing and electrical applications; and extensively in brass musical instruments such as horns and bells for its acoustic properties. It is also used in zippers. Brass is often used in situations where it is important that sparks not be struck, as in fittings and tools around explosive gases.[5]

zinc

Zinc, in commerce also spelter, is a metallic chemical element; it has the symbol Zn andatomic number 30. It is the first element of group 12 of the periodic table. In some respects zinc is chemically similar to magnesium: its ion is of similar size and its only common oxidation state is +2. Zinc is the 24th most abundant element in the Earth's crust and has five stable isotopes. The most common zinc ore is sphalerite (zinc blende), azinc sulfide mineral. The largest mineable amounts are found in AustraliaAsia, and theUnited States. Zinc production includes froth flotation of the oreroasting, and finalextraction using electricity (electrowinning).

bhilai

Bhilai is a city in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh, in eastern central India. As of 2001, it had a population of 556,366.[1] The city is located 32 kilometres (20 mi) west of the capital Raipur, on the main HowrahMumbai rail line, and National Highway 6. Bhilai is famous for the Bhilai Steel Plant, which is the largest steel plant in India and known for being the only manufacturer of rails in the country used by Indian Railways.

Demographics[edit]

In the 2011 census Durg-Bhilainagar Urban Agglomeration had a population of 1,064,077.[2] Durg-Bhilainagar Urban Agglomeration includes: Durg (M Corp.), Bhilai Nagar (M Corp.), Dumar dih (part) (OG), Bhilai Charoda (M), Jamul (M), Kumhari (M), Ahmed Nagar (Camp-02), Farid Nagar and Utai (NP).[3]

Climate[edit]

The climate is pleasant and mild in the winter (minimum temperature 10 °C, 50 °F). There are medium rains in the monsoon season. The summers are very hot and dry, with maximum temperature 48 °C (118.4 °F), and minimum humidity.

Administration[edit]

The town of Bhilai Nagar is the second best planned township in India. Bhilai Nagar is divided into 10 sectors and various other areas. Bhilai is part of the new towns set up in independent India to enhance modernization, productivity, development. Other newSteel Authority of India towns include RourkelaBokaroDurgapur. New Towns and cities built in independent India include BhubaneshwarChandigarh, etc. Bhilai has been listed as one of the top three best planned cities in India.[citation needed] The steel township campus is managed by in house town planning department. The municipal corporation of Bhilai Nagar is Nagar Palik Nigam, Bhilai.[4] Bhilai has three road spines or arterial roads which bind the town.

What is induced current and what is its direction? 

     The relative motion of the magnet or a coil induces a p.d between the terminals of a coil and sends a current in the external circuit is called electro magnetic induction. The resulting current is called induced current. 

     The direction of induced current is explained by Fleming's right hand rule. Stretch the forefinger, central finger and thumb of our right hand mutually perpendicular to each other. Then, the forefinger shows the direction of the magnetic field, thumb shows the direction of motion and the central finger shows the direction of induced current.

     The phenomenon by which the charge in the magnetic field in one set of coil induces a current in another set of coil nearby is called electro magnetic induction discovered by Michael Faraday.
