‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai' Were The Last Words Of Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh
Yuva Desh pays tribute to thirty-year-old Sudhakar Singh who returned
to his village, not striding into his small home as usual, but in a
coffin draped in the Indian Tricolour. His father collapsed as the
martyred soldier's body reached in an Army vehicle. At his Dadhiya
village, Madhya Pradesh, his fellow-soldier Sandeep Singh, who
accompanied the body, described the martyr's last moments. Sudhakar's
last words before he fell prey to bullet wounds, were "Bharat Mata ki
Jai (Glory to Mother India)," he said. Sudhakar with his small party of
soldiers was on routine duty when Pakistani troops opened fire. He
rushed ahead and fired back, bearing the brunt of the attack and saving
the rest of the group. He sacrificed his life but saved other fellow
soldiers.
We salute the supreme sacrifice of this young son of
‘Bharat Mata’ who served in the Indian Army for 11 years and left behind
a 4-month-old baby boy.
Jai Hind!
