Lionel Messi has broken Gerd Muller's record of scoring the most number of goals in a season. After 40 years Lionel Messi has broken this record. Gerd Muller has scored 84 goals, but Messi overtook the record by scoring two goals against Real Betis. His goals tally is now 86. He has proved that he is one of the best footballers in the world. Most of the football legends have appreciated him for this achievement. His arch rival is Cristiano Ronaldo.
