Who is a potter?
A potter is someone who makes things out of clay and other materials, such as vases. The potter holds the clay firmly, gently and steadily. He keeps shaping the clay from time to time till they get the desired shape.
Define occupation.
Any work done by a person in order to earn money is called an occupation. Occupation is a person's usual or principal work or business, especially as a means of earning a living. Different people follow different occupations.
How are jobs classified?
A job can be put in to two categories. One is mental work and the other is physical work. Physical work is all tasks that require physical strength or stamina to accomplish the task. Mental work on the other hand is the work done with nothing but the brain.
Who designs buildings?
An architect designs a building. They design schools and skyscrapers. They design hospitals and hotels. They also design churches, train stations and plain old regular houses.
How do mechanics work?
A mechanic repairs broken vehicles. There are bicycle, scooter and motorcycle mechanics. They are called auto mechanics. There are car, truck and bus mechanics also. Mechanics use tools like a screw driver, wrench and a spanner to repair a vehicle.
What does a tailor do?
A tailor stitches clothes using a sewing machine, needle and thread. A good tailor can really turn a simple piece of cloth into a beautiful dress.
Who is a cobbler?
A cobbler is a person who specializes in repairing shoes. Traditionally, cobblers also made shoes, although most modern cobblers focus on repair and restoration, not manufacture of new shoes.
Where does a doctor work?
Some doctors work in an office, others in the hospital, and some in laboratories where they develop new medicines and research cure. Doctors see patients, run and interpret tests, prescribe medicines or treatments, talk to patients about how to stay healthy, respond to emergencies, and regularly read books and medical journals or take classes to keep their knowledge up-to-date. Doctors use their knowledge and experience to help all of us to live happy, healthy lives.
What right does every child have?
In some villages, people send only the boy child to school. The girl child is not allowed to go to school. She stays home and help the mother with household work or is send to the fields to work. So many girls remain uneducated. Every child has the right to go to school and get an education.
