PARTS OF A PLANT

 


Roots give support to a plant. They collect water and minerals from the ground. Then they send them to the rest of the plant. Roots usually grow under the ground.

Stem is the main body of a plant. Leaves, branches and flowers grow from it. Stem usually grows above the ground. It carries food and water to all parts of the plant.

Leaf makes food for a plant. It is called the kitchen of the plant.

Flower is the colourful part of a plant. It produces fruits or seeds.

Fruit is the fleshy part of a plant. It grows from flowers and has seeds inside it.

Seed is that part of a plant from which a new plant can grow.
