1. What makes our smile beautiful?

The pretty white teeth in our mouth makes our smile beautiful. Smiles are generally accepted as a universal facial expression of happiness or joy. We get instincts about which smiles are more genuine,are more felt than others,and which are more forced and more polite.     

2. Explain teeth.

Our teeth are hard bone-like things in the upper and lower jaw. They help us to chew our food. They also give the shape to the part of the face around our mouth. Teeth help us to speak. Our teeth are the hardest part of our body. There are two types of teeth. They are deciduous teeth and permanent teeth.      

3. What are the two types of teeth human beings have?

Human beings have two types of teeth. They are deciduous teeth and permanent teeth. Deciduous teeth appear and fall very early in life. They are replaced by the permanent set of teeth. There are 20 deciduous teeth and 32 permanent teeth.

4. What are deciduous teeth?

Deciduous teeth are also known as baby teeth or milk teeth. They are formed when a baby is seven and a half month old,even before it is born. When a baby is born deciduous teeth are present deep in the jaws. Deciduous teeth appear and fall very early in life. There are 20 deciduous teeth,10 in each jaw.

5.  What are permanent teeth?

Permanent teeth appear when the deciduous teeth start falling. The first permanent teeth tooth appears when a child is 6 to 7 years old. The last one appears when a person is about 21 years old. There is a set of 32 permanent teeth,16 in each jaw.Permanent teeth are bigger than the milk teeth.     

6. How do teeth help us?

Teeth help us to chew our food. It gives shape to the part of the face around our mouth. They also help us speak. Teeth makes our smile beautiful.

7. What are the different types of permanent teeth?

There are four types of permanent teeth. They are known as incisors,canines,premolars and molars.In each jaw,there are 4 incisors,2 canines,4 premolars and 6 molars. Each does a different job.     

8. What are the functions of the incisors?

Incisors are the teeth used mainly to bite food. Incisors are the eight teeth in the front and center of our mouth,four on top and four on bottom. These are the teeth that we use to take bites of our food. Incisors are usually the first teeth to erupt,at around 6 months of age for our first set of teeth,and between 6 and 8 years of age for our adult set.

9. What are molars and premolars used for?

Premolars and molars are used to grind food. Molars are a bit larger than premolars. Premolars,are used for chewing and grinding food. We have four premolars on each side of our mouth,two on the upper and two on the lower jaw. The first premolars appear around age 10 and the second premolars arrive about a year later. Molars are also used for chewing and grinding food. These appear between 12 and 15 months of age. These molars are replaced by the first and second permanent molars. The first molars erupt around 6 years of age while the second molars come in between 11 and 13 years of age.

10. Explain the function of canines.

Canines are used with incisors to bite and tear the food. They have sharp pointed edges. Our four canines are the next type of teeth to develop. These are our sharpest teeth and are used for ripping and tearing food apart. Primary canines generally appear between 16 and 20 months of age with the upper canines coming in just ahead of the lower canines.In permanent teeth,the order is reversed. Lower canines erupt around age 9 with the uppers arriving between 11 and 12 years of age.
