1. What are organs and organ system?

    Biology is the study of living things.The parts of a body that perform  tasks to keep  living things alive are called organs and most organs work together in groups called organ systems .

2. How many organ systems are there in the human body ?

    There are ten organ systems in the human body .They are

  • Sensory system
  • Nervous system
  • Respiratory system
  • Digestive system
  • Circulatory system
  • Excretory system
  • Skeletal system
  • Muscle system
  • Endocrine system
  • Reproductive system

3. What is Sensory system?

   The sensory system is made up of sense organs such as the eye and the ear.The function of this sytem is provide information about surroundings .

4. The Nervous system:

    The nervous system comprises of the brain,spinal cord and nerves.This system controls the actions of the body and co-ordinates many of its activities .

5. What is  Respiratory system?

    The Respiratory system is located in the chest. It is formed by the windpipe,the lungs,the ribs, rib muscles and the diaphragm .The system works to draw in air and then expel it .While in the lungs oxygen passes from the air into the blood and carbondioxide passes from the blood into the air.

6. What is Digestive system?

    The digestive system is a long tube through the body in which food is broken down and absorbed into the blood .It is made up of many organs including the liver, which also performs many other tasks in the body .

7. What is Circulatory  system?

   The circulatory system transports material around the body in a liquid called the blood.Blood is moved along tubes called blood vessels by the pumping action of the heart .

8. What is Excretory system?

   The excretory system cleans waste from the blood by a filtration process in the kidneys .The liquid containing the waste is called urine .It is stored in the bladder before it is released .

9. What is Skeletal system?

   The skeletal system is made up of 206 bones .They provide support for the body and have joints between them that help the body to move .Some bones form a protective structure,for example ,the bones in the skull form a protective case around the brain .

10.What is Muscle system?

   The muscle system provides the mechanism for movement.A muscle is capable of making itself shorter to exert a pulling force on a bone . 

11. What is Endocrine system?

     The endocrine system is made up of glands which release chemicals called hormones into the blood.The adrenal gland is an example of an endocrine gland.

12. What is Reproductive system  ?

     The Reproductive system of the male produces sperm cells and the reproductive system of the female produces egg and provides a place for a baby to grow .
