21.2456 passengers traveled in a train. of them 1387 passengers have reserved their tickets.  How many passengers have not reserved.?

       Ans:

       Total No. of passengers    = 2456

       No. of passengers who have reserved their ticket = 1387

       No of passengers who have not reserved their ticket = 2456-1387

                                                                                           = 1069

                                                                                                         

22.A lungi merchant bought 6570 lungies. If he was left with 1898 lungies, how many lungies were sold.?

       Ans:

       Total no. of lungies bought    = 6750

       There are 1898 were left.

        So, no. of lungies sold   =  6750 - 1898

                                              = 4752

                                                           

23.In a two wheeler shop 543 vehicles. were there during the beginning of month.  Again 1475 vehicles arrived for the sale.  If 1682 vehicles are sold, how many vehicles are left at the end of the month.?

       Ans:

       Total no. of vehicles arrived for sale  = 1475 + 543

                                                                  = 2018            

       No. of vehicles sold   = 1682

       The remaining number of vehicles = 2018 - 1682

                                                              = 336                 

24.In a street there are 40 houses in the left side and 30 houses in the right side.  what is the total no. of houses.?

       Ans:

       No. of houses in the left side   =  40

       No. of houses in the right side =  30

       So, total no. of houses  =  40 + 30

                                             = 70      

                                                        

25.In a bus 60 passengers are sitting and 30 passengers are standing.  How many passengers are there in the bus.?

       Ans:

       No. of passengers sitting      = 60

       No. of passengers standing  = 30

       So, total no. of passengers   = 60 + 30

                                                     = 90

                                                                                                                     

26.In an aeroplane there are 200 passengers and 20 workers.  How many are there in that aeroplane ?

       Ans:

       No. of passengers  = 200

       No. of workers        = 20

         Total no.of people = 200 + 20

                                           = 220

                                                         

27.There are 1000 roses in a flower shop.  300 roses are used to make garlands.  How many roses are left.?

       Ans:

       Total no. of roses   =  1000

       No. of roses used to make garlands = 300

       No. of roses left  =  1000 - 300

                                  = 700

                                              

28.30 laddus are issued from 100 laddus. How many laddus are remaining?

       Ans:

       Total no. of laddus    = 100

       No. of laddus issued = 30

       The no. of laddus remaining = 100 - 30

                                                     = 70

29.20 boys and 30 girls are studying in a class.  What is the total number of students.?

       Ans:

       No. of boys    = 20

       No. of girls     = 30

       So, total no. of students  = 20 + 30

                                               = 50

30.A jack fruit has 166 pods in it and another jack fruit has 100 pods.  What is the total no. of pods.?

       Ans:

       No. of pods in one jack fruit    =  160

       No. of pods in other jack fruit  =  100

       So, total no. of pods               = 160 + 100

31.700 lemons were bought to prepare pickle.  Out of these 200 were used.  How many lemons were left.?

       Ans:

       Total no. of lemons   = 700

       No. of lemons used  = 200

       So, no. of remaining lemons = 700 - 200

                                                    = 500
