1. What is diet?

The food which we eat is called our diet.Our body needs different kinds of food to stay healthy.Diet is the sum of food consumed by a person or other organism.

2. How can we maintain our diet?

Energy giving foods ,such as  proteins , minerals and vitamins should be included in our diet.  These  foods make  our body healthy .

3. What are the three food groups?

The three main kinds of food groups are :

  1. Energy giving food or carbohydrates and fats.
  2. Body building or protein.
  3. Protective  food or vitamins and minerals.

4. What are the benefits of energy giving food?Give example.

These foods gives us energy to work , play and be active.

Some examples of protective foods are given below;

6.What are the minerals of food groups ?

  1. These foods gives us energy to work.
  2. These foods help us to grow.
  3. These foods help us to be strong and healthy.
  4. These foods protect body from illness.

7.Who are vegetarians ?

Some people do not  eat meat or eggs . They are called vegetarians . Vegetarians must have a lot of pulses and nuts in their diet to stay healthy .

8.Who are Vegans?

Some vegetarians do not drink milk or eat anything made from milk , such as butter and cheese . They are known as Vegans.

9. From  where do we get food ?

We get food from plants. We get grains , vegetables and fruits from plants. Farmers grow many types of food grains. Fruits and vegetables are grown on big farms.Some people also grow fruits and vegetables in their gardens. Plants are called producers because they make their own food and animals are consumer.

10.What do we get farm animals ?

We get food like milk , eggs and meat from farm animals.

11.Give some good eating habits.

Some good eating habits are as follows;

  1. Eat your meals at fixed times.
  2. Wash your hands well , before and after eating.
  3. Drink at least eight glasses of water every day.
  4. Chew your food well.
