What are the examples of unity in diversity in India?

The people living in different parts of India speaks different languages.There are different religions and people from different regions of India, but they come together to make the people of one unified country, India.

All Indians share the same national pride of having India as their motherland.

Kerala is surrounded by the sea on one side and hills on the other while Ladakh is a desert in the mountains in the eastern part of Jammu and Kashmir. In Kerala, number of spices like pepper, cloves and cardamoms are grown on the hills. But very little agriculture is possible in Ladakh since this region does not receive any rain and is covered in snow for a large part of the year.

  •  People of India speak different languages, such as Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Malayalam ,Kannada etc.
  •  People of India eat different kinds of food, such as chawal, dal, Razma, idli, dosa, Roti, etc.
  •  People of India celebrate different festivals, such as Holi, Diwali, Id, Guru parv, Christmas, Baisakhi, etc.
  •  People of India practise different religions, such as Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, etc
  •  People of India wear different types of clothes, such as saree - blouse, kurta-pyjama, shirt-pant ,dothi etc.

 What is diversity?

It means having or belonging to different religions, culture, having variety of food habits, celebrating different festivals, speaking different languages, beliefs etc.
